New Client – TransTherapist – Reid Vanderburgh, MA, LMFT

Transmutation Sciences is excited to announce our newest client, Reid Vanderburgh, MA, LMFT.  Reid is a therapist in private practice in Portland, Oregon. He received a B.A. in Psychology from Portland State University in 1998 and his M.A. in Counseling Psychology (specialization Transpersonal Psychology) from John F. Kennedy University’s Graduate School for Holistic Studies in 2001. His thesis was Gender Dissonance: A New Paradigm, in which he presented a new way of conceptualizing therapy with transgendered clients, using a model of identity emergence rather than a medical model of psychological pathology.

In 2007, Reid published his first book, Transition and Beyond: Observations on Gender Identity (for which I designed the cover) which blew out its first printing and has since become an essential publication for people in transition and their therapists and physicians.

Transmutation Sciences will be helping Reid re-envision his website to coincide with the release of the expanded second edition of Transition and Beyond: Observations on Gender Identity which we are also redesigning the cover.
