Site Launch! The Write Words – Professional Copywriting for the Rest of Us

About a year ago, I had a challenging search engine optimization project … the client had very little content developed for his site.  The client was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of content I was asking him to write for his site.  Typically, there’s enough content on a site and I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous and there’s content available to use as research material that I can manage the optimization fairly easily.  In this case however, resources – and my knowledge – were pretty minimal.  So I turn to a professional copywriter, Nancy Langmeyer.

What’s a professional copywriter?  Basically, a professional copywriter is a good interviewer, exceptional researcher, and talented journalist wrapped in one large tasty tortilla.  So, I sicked Nancy on my client and gave her a quick lesson on how I manage optimization in content.  It took a few weeks, but this highly professional … um … professional managed to write a very generous amount of content for a client, optimized perfectly.

His site now produces a substantial amount of business and has top 20 rank on 27 key terms.

Unfortunately, Nancy’s own website, TheWriteWords.info, was woefully under-representative of her skills and her personality.  It wasn’t dry … it was arid.  I always use the saying “The cobbler’s son needs new shoes.” to describe the mess my website is often in; the same things applied to Nancy’s site.  And, you don’t really realize how hard it is to write about yourself!  … in a realistic yet compelling manner.

So, I’ve worked with Nancy to give her website a fresh new, vibrant look … something that more extravagantly expressed who she is as a person and a professional.  I’ve given Nancy one of the most popular content management systems, developed the look, created the logo and designed her business cards.  Nancy has a ton of exceptional material so we’re still working on the content and I’ll be teaching her how to optimize it, maintain the optimization, and best of all, I’ll give her my Guerrilla Blogging Strategies so she can build a greater reach and client base.

Thusly, and a bit prematurely, I introduce TheWriteWords.info!
