Old Client, New Website, Micro-Site Strategy

One of the strategies I have become enamored with is the Micro-Site strategy.

A Micro-Site is what it seems; a very small website – just a few pages – that has been heavily optimized for a very specific and limited set of keywords/phrases, geo-targeted, and niched to a particular demographic.  This is an especially effective tactic for a company that provides several services that, in and of themselves, could have their own website.  It is also essential if the niche or service is particularly competitive.

Take, for example, my client Mike Houghton of Concrete Lifting Solutions.  His company provides large- to medium-scale concrete lifting (also known as “slab jacking”) and foundation repair services.  Mike wants to get on the first page of Google, Yahoo, and Bing for “slab jacking” and “foundation repair” geo-targeted to Oregon.

Due to the competitive nature of these terms I made a Micro-Site for “Slab Jacking Oregon” and optimized the site only for that term.  Its been up for a few months and its made a great deal of headway easily getting to #2 in Google for “Portland slabjacking” and #5 in Google for “Slabjacking Oregon.”  We’re still working on solidifying those results.

This year Mike wants to focus on “foundation repair” so we discovered www.portlandfoundationrepair.com was available (WOW!) {Remember that having your keywords as your domain name is the easiest way to get to number one on the search engines.}.  I’ve just built it and now I’m in the process of optimizing it.  Sometime in the next few weeks we’ll get a baseline report from the top 3 search engines and watch the site move up the ranks.

If you’re interested in learning how the Micro-Site strategy may be able to help your business climb to the top on the major search engines; go on … give me a call at 971-207-6038.  There’s never a hard sell and certainly no obligation.
