If you’ve ever seen Ron Popeil’s informercial for his Showtime Rotisserie – and who hasn’t? – you know the motto constantly shouted throughout the commercial is “Set it and forget it!”

The internet is constantly evolving and a website can become day-old bread in no time at all … even for the info-hungry masses.  People are constantly on the hunt for what’s new, what’s hot, and what’s interesting … even your own customers and clients will keep coming back to your site … if its kept new and fresh, that is.

Depending on your business and the products and or services you are providing it is likely you have not looked at your own website since it was built.  Take some time to review your website – and your competitor’s websites - on a regular schedule.  We recommend no less than once every 90 days.

Your website’s heaviest hitter is your home page and it needs to be fresh.  That should be fairly easy, just ask yourself these questions and decide if the answers are acceptable content:  What’s new about your business?  Have you added new product(s)? Have you developed new service(s)? Do you have any new ad campaigns or promotions?  Are there new employees?  New distributors?

Your long term vision should also include a website overhaul every few years, too.  There are always new technologies and techniques developed for the web that can make your website look dull and drab by comparison.  Plus, planning an overhaul also helps keep your website at its sparkling best.
