Linking Strategies are Winning Strategies

Links are one of the most important elements in increasing your page rank … and therefore, NOT linking to anyone creates a ranking deficit for your site that is virtually insurmountable.  On a similar note, bad links, irrelevant links, and too many links will also create a ranking deficit.

On the flip side, the right kinds of links sprinkled liberally – and logically – throughout your website will do wonders for your website’s ranking potential.  Remember, links alone don’t guarantee good ranking, your linking strategy should be a part of your overall SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy.

What are the “right kind” of links? Think “link relevancy” … is the site you are linking to related to your website, product or service.  If your website is selling shoes, linking to other clothing related etailers and/or manufactures would be consider relevant linking.  “Rank-to-rank” linking … What is the page rank of the website you are linking?  If you have a Google page rank of 5 and the site you are linking to is ranked 2, your website will suffer a deficit. Are you sharing “reciprocal links“?  Whenever you can, try to get the site you are linking to to link back to you.
