Google Adsense is a system you can use to make money from your website. There are three major ways you can participate in this system.

1. Adsense for Content allows you to put "pay-per-click" ads on your site. Google pays you a small commission every time someone clicks on one of the ads placed on your site. Google determines what ads to place on your site based on the words it reads on the page. You can exercise some control over the ads placed on your site by "blocking" any advertiser you do not want to appear. 2. Adsense for Search allows you to place a Google search box on any page of your website. When someone searches, they go to a customized search results page (it can have your logo on it.) If the searcher clicks on any of the sponsored results on the page, you earn a commission. You may also use this search function to allow people to search within your website. 3. You may also use Google Adsense Referrals. When you create an account, you can choose from certain advertisers and place their ads on your site. In most cases, the visitor has to do something (make a purchase, sign up to receive messages, download something, etc) in order for you to receive a commission.
