Twitter – Marketing Tool? or Waste of Time? Part 2

I won’t tell you that you MUST use Twitter only that you should look at the investment of time that Twitter requires and judge whether using Twitter will add to your bottom line.

I believe that Twitter WILL add to your bottom line if you follow many of the basic strategies I’ve discusses in my series Top Ten Guerrilla Blogging Strategies and if you use some of the fantastic tools that are available that maximize Twitter.

The first thing you need to do is sign up for your Twitter account and ensure that you have a COMPLETE PROFILE.  This means fill out everything and don’t forget to include some of your most important keywords for your business.  (You DO have your keyword list handy, don’t you?)

The second thing you need to do is start “Following” people.  In the Twitter menu is “Find People”  … Go ahead, type in something … If you’re Twittering for your business who is your target audience?  Hippies?  Type that in the search tool.  Seniors?  Body surfers?  Web geeks?  Don’t forget to search for other related businesses.  Most of all, follow the Transmutator!
